No. 201: Whiskey Lemonade

The temps outside are hot, hot, hot.

That means one thing ... cocktails!

Whiskey Lemonade

I'm not a personal fan of whiskey and other brown spirits, but Mr. McCormick loves the stuff. So I made him this pre-dinner cocktail from Martha.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about one lemon, depending on size)
2 tablespoons whiskey
2 tablespoons simple syrup
Ice
Lemon zest

To make

Make your simple syrup and let cool completely. In a glass, combine lemon juice, whiskey, and simple syrup over ice. Garnish with lemon zest. Add a splash of water if desired.

The results

This drink is a fresh take on summer lemonade cocktails.

Whiskey lemonade

Pardon the poor photo. Drinks are tough to get right on my white counters.

Even though I could only stand a sip (again, not a whiskey fan), I almost liked it!

Mr. McCormick said it was good, so we'll all believe him:)
